Learn about the meditative art of creating Mandalas!!! M & M member, Thom Kulp will be offering Mandala Making 101, a workshop on creating Mandalas at York Art Association on July 11 and 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The York Art Association is located at 220 S. Marshall Street, York, PA  17402. The costs is $100, with a discount for YAA members.

Tina Berrier and Judy Kelly have been accepted to the Mechanicsburg Art Center Juried Show, 18 Artcraft Dr, Mechanicsburg, PA, which opened this past Friday, April 12th. Tina won a 3rd place award for one of her entries to the show which will be on display until May 3rd.

Linda Benton McCloskey wins Rottler Award

The York Art Association recently awarded the very coveted Rottler Award to top five artists members. The award is based on two pieces of art entered for the recent exhibition. The exhibit will be open from February 24 – March 30, 2013.  M & M member, Linda Benton McCloskey was one of the five artists chosen to receive the annual award and is shown below with her art entries and receiving her award. Benton McCloskey is also an instructor at YAA. She teaches Mixed Media, Cold Wax and Encaustic workshops. You can view more of her art and her teaching schedule here.

Linda Benton McCloskey Offers Advanced Encaustic On Paper

Linda Benton McCloskey will offer a 3 day Advanced Encaustic Workshop at the York Art Association, 220 South Marshall Street, York, PA 17402. The workshop begins Friday, August 20 at 5:00pm – 9:00pm; Saturday, August 21 from 9:00am to 3:30pm and Sunday, August 22 from 9:00am to 3:30pm.

The workshop is for advanced students. You must have previously taken Linda’s Basic Encaustic Workshop or have previous knowledge of encaustic.  In this workshop, Linda will be teaching new techniques and you will have ample time to paint; plus you will learn encaustic mono-printing on the Roland Hot Box®.

The only supplies you will need to bring are oil paints and paper towels.  All other supplies will be provided for a fee of $50 payable on the first day of workshop. The workshop fee is $85.
